The Edmonton Firefighters Piping and Drumming Society is committed to honoring our fallen heroes and supporting their loved ones. Soon, we will be introducing a comprehensive Funeral and Memorial Information Package, designed specifically for our valued fire families, when pipes and drums is requested.

This package will simplify and provide ideas regarding the pipes & drums process when assistance is requested with funeral arrangements for our active and retired members. We understand that coping with loss can be overwhelming, and we hope to alleviate some of the burden by providing a streamlined and stress-free experience during this difficult time.

Our Funeral and Memorial Information Package will provide detailed guidance on:

- Department policies and procedures

- Levels of funeral honours (e.g., Line of Duty Deaths, Active Member/Non LODD, Retiree)

- Customized options based on past experiences and common requests, including tunes.

- Expert insights from our Honour Guard, funeral homes, IAFF Local 209, and EFRS

Drawing from our experience supporting over 90 funerals and memorials since 2018, we aim to provide a thoughtful and comprehensive resource around pipes and drums at a funeral or memorial in order to help our families navigate this difficult process.
